I’ve joined Sci.STEPS 2026 as a mentor

Navigating the path from academic research to “what comes next” is a conversation that is far too often neglected. It’s a missed opportunity, especially considering this transition is one of the most critical hurdles an early-career scientist will face.

I am excited to share that I have joined the Sci.STEPS 2026 mentorship program as a mentor. My goal is to help researchers find their path and, more importantly, define their professional identity.

Why does this matter to me?

  • Moving beyond “Hard Work”: When I was a student, I assumed that being hard-working was the only requirement for success. In reality, being mindful of your choices and understanding the landscape of opportunities is much better key to development.
  • Bridging the knowledge gap: I want to help my mentees avoid the “blind spots” I had. By becoming a mentor, I hope to help others understand their own strengths and navigate the complexities of academia with intent.

I’m looking forward to learning as much from my mentees as they (hopefully) do from me.
